Transition from Reliability Engineering to Reliability Management

Quite often, reliability engineering, with all of its tools and techniques, is treated as a core technology job, with most of the middle management in the value chain disassociating themselves from it. This presentation brings an insight into the methodology of applying the principles of quality management to bring in the customer’s voice on product reliability as an integral process for internal management. Key elements of the presentation include: 1) Principles of quality management as applied to reliability engineering, 2) Disciplined process deployment of weaving reliability tools and techniques into daily work management, and 3) Suitable case studies of successful reliability management techniques.

Key Words: Reliability Management, Principles of Quality Management
