From BLUE SKY to GREENFIELD and Beyond

Phu Bia Mining Limited have successfully developed a greenfield mine and copper/gold concentrate process plant in the challenging and remote geography in the Peoples Democratic Republic of Laos. Many maintenance and reliability engineering professionals in the mining industry have the opportunity to work with new greenfield operations. The process of examining the plant that is being installed and then to develop appropriate, effective equipment operation and maintenance strategies is fundamental to their work. Relatively few have had the opportunity to work with a greenfield development and also to have had the additional challenges and rewards of establishing the maintenance processes at a Blue Sky business. This presentation will take the attendees through a journey of developing new maintenance planning, scheduling, work management, reporting and continuous improvement processes. The presentation will also show how Phu Bia Mining Limited approached the Operational Readiness for maintenance planning and reliability engineering.
