Measures of Reliability: Developing Reliability Requirements

There are several approaches to the development of reliability requirements; this presentation identifies some of the tasks that should be considered. A thorough understanding of the market or customer needs for the product is a key principle behind developing reliability performance needs and expectations which may be expressed explicitly, or not at all. The importance of selecting the appropriate tasks is paramount in detailing the scope and magnitude of work needed to measure requirements and ensure that the reliability performance of the product for the market or customer is realised.
