Reliability Improvement Through Field Performance Data Analysis and Reliability Testing – A Case Study on a Domestic Geyser

Reliability is all about the life of the product from cradle to grave. Warranty data can be effectively used for quantifying the reliability of the product. Weibull life data analysis can be adopted for analyzing warranty data using ReliaSoft’s Weibull++® version 7 software tool. Accelerated life testing was a useful testing procedure for improving the reliability of the product in short time as well as in early stages of product development. This presentation highlights the following aspects:

• How to use the Weibull analysis results to identify the critical to reliability (CTR) components.
• How to perform failure analysis of the components that are critical to reliability.
• How to use the failure analysis report for developing accelerated test plans.
• How to develop equipment that is suitable to implement the accelerated test plan.
